Project Description
Stone meets sky in the heart of Boulder.
The Boulder Public Library is one of those buildings that earns a second look — and a third. The stacked native sandstone walls ground it firmly in the Colorado landscape, while the soaring glass and steel pyramid punches through the roofline with unmistakable energy. It’s a building that respects its place without being timid about its ambitions.
There’s a conversation happening here between material and light, between the permanence of stone and the transparency of glass. The Flatirons aren’t far away, and you can feel that influence — rugged, layered, reaching upward.
A public library should feel like an invitation. This one does.
